Keith Relf - Mr. Zero [7"]

To mark 60 years of The Yardbirds, Demon Records presents the reissue of Keith Relf’s Mr. Zero, his 1966 debut solo single, on 7" vinyl. A baroque pop gem, “Mr. Zero” was written by American folk singer Bob Lind and produced by Yardbird Paul Samwell-Smith, showcasing Relf’s hauntingly expressive vocal style. Originally conceived as part of a project for all Yardbirds members to release solo singles, Relf’s contribution is a standout that highlights his unique artistry beyond the band.

The B-side, “Knowing,” is an intimate and heartfelt track penned by Relf himself as a tribute to his bride, April. Featuring his autoharp accompaniment alongside guitar contributions from Jeff Beck and Rick Jones, the song adds a personal and tender touch. This reissue, meticulously mastered by Phil Kinrade and cut by Jasper Ward, is housed in a heavy-stock card sleeve with the rare French issue cover enhanced by spot UV detailing. This beautifully presented release is a must-have for Yardbirds fans and collectors of ‘60s baroque pop treasures.
